Camden Falcons Soccer Club History
Camden RSL Soccer Club was formed in 1984. The clubs' home ground at the time was Onslow Park until 1991 with the move to Belgenny Reserve. In May 1998 the club was incorporated and name changed to Camden Falcons Soccer Club.
Over the years we have had a number of teams as Competition Premiers and Ron Dine Cup winners. It is club policy currently to provide competition winners with club jackets in recognition of their achievement. These are black and red with the Falcon logo embroidered on them. The rest of the club players are given recognition for their efforts by being presented with awards as decided by the club committee and dependant on finances. This all happens on Presentation Day held a few weeks after the end of the season. Throughout the season there are money raising activities run, with most monies being put back to the players with equipment etc. and some monies used for the general running of the club. The club draws on parents from within the club to coach or manage teams. We have coaching co-coordinators and experienced coaches available within the club to assist any new coaches and a devoted voluntary group, the Committee, who work hard not just on weekends but during the week to ensure the successful running of this Club.
Camden Falcons Soccer Club Clubhouse
The excitement generated in 1995 with the approval by council to allow this club to finally build a canteen/clubhouse we believe has begun a new era for this club. At the end of the 1995 season, stage 1, the canteen, was built and in use for 1996. Stage 2, the clubhouse, in 1997 was well under way and we are sure will be the envy of many clubs. This can be put down to the hard work by a band of people from within this club, who have given up their time, holidays and/or weekends, to ensure that this club has a special building for the children and sports people in Camden that they can identify with and be proud of. Camden Council finally passed the building, and this has enabled us to open the Clubhouse and facilities to the community. This Clubhouse will enable the community to see the work that has been done by all the volunteers in the club, and hopefully with your support the Club will continue to foster soccer in the community with the success that it has achieved.
Supporters track-suites, shirts, T-shirts and caps can be purchased through the club from the canteen. Anyone wishing to purchase supporters jackets / track- suites will need to place an order in early in the season.
ANZAC Day is a big day on the Australian calender and as part of our community involvement, the club takes part in the local ANZAC Day march. We urge players to come along in soccer uniform and join us in this special Australian Anniversary.
